Dr. Rodrigo Franco is a Professor in the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and a member of the Redox Biology Center (RBC). He has a courtesy appointment in the Department of Environmental Agricultural and Occupational Health. College of Public Health, University of Nebraska-Medical Center.
Research Interests
Redox signaling with an emphasis in thiol-redox homeostasis and oxidative protein cysteine modifications
Cell death pathways (apoptosis, autophagy and necrosis) involved in neuronal cell death associated with neurotoxicity, neurodegenerative disorders, ischemia and brain injury
The implications of cellular bioenergetics and metabolism in the regulation of cell death/survival
